Thanks to the Mahoning County Bar Association for the invitation to attend this year’s Law Day luncheon earlier this week at Fellows Riverside Gardens. It was a wonderful event! 👩⚖️👨⚖️
Two of our students also had the opportunity to shadow a lawyer in the field and had a great experience.

Here are some more highlights from our time at YSU’s English Festival a couple weeks ago! ✍️

Eighteen 7th-8th graders attended Youngstown State University's 46th English Festival last week. Students read seven YSU assigned books before their trip, then attended various sessions throughout the day, including visits with two of the authors of three of the books they read, Jasmine Warga and Jeff Zentner! They also enjoyed playing writing games, drafting impromptu essays and poetry, and even saw "Jungle Terry" in honor of Zentner's book, "Serpent King." 📚🖊
✨Congratulations to Alesana Johnson (1st) and Brady Wynn (3rd) who won prize recognition for their limericks. Congrats also to Sylar Gindlesberger (1st) and Brittney Nagy (3rd) who each showcased their knowledge in the Not So Trivial Pursuit game. ✨

Happy Earth Day! 🌎💚💙
Our Ecology Club spent part of their day doing a road clean-up along Johnson Rd. yesterday. Later this spring, they'll be planting daffodils to help beautify our village!🌼
Let's use their efforts as inspiration to all do our part to take care of our Earth today, this week, this month and for years to come! 🌱🌳🌎

We had a "BLAST off" time at the Sky Dome Planetarium event last week! So many spectacular views, especially seeing so many of our students and families having a fun-filled evening of learning!
THANK YOU to United Way's Success After 6 for sponsoring the event, as well as volunteering their time and efforts the night of, Mobile Ed Productions for their mobile planetarium and guided tours, P.I.E. for partnering with us and volunteering their time, Jill Dennis, our family engagement coordinator for all of her efforts to make this possible, and of course, our district for supporting the event! And thanks to the more than 200 Trojans for attending!
One lucky student even took home a National Geographic 70m Sky View Telescope, the event's grand prize for attendance, donated by SA6!
Families also enjoyed bingo and Oh WOW! STEM Saks while waiting for their guided tour.
Thanks to all for a great experience!
