A special "Sebring Shout-Out " to the following Trojans who represented Sebring with pride during an all-county band performance in Youngstown recently: Alanis Giron-Perez, Aubreigh Jones, Jaxon Pue, Quincy Taylor, Brittney Nagy.

Our McKinley Jr./Sr. High Student Senate groups partnered with Ecology Club and Success and Wellness students for a big goal: expand support for our Sebring families this holiday season. Thanks to the generous support of our wonderful community, our students' mission was achieved. Together, we were able to provide food and care items to 36 Sebring families this holiday season. Thank you for supporting our students and community!

Mrs. Mathias’ students recently connected literature and art as they entered the library’s “TeenTober Bookmark Contest”. The contest challenged teens to create original artwork for bookmarks. Hundreds of entries from around the county were submitted and we have two Trojans whose designs were recognized!
Congrats to: Finnley Rumberger, Grade 9 and Alanis Giron Perez, grade 8

We are happy to announce that Keely Kandel has won the WKBN Creative Classroom contest!
Of her award, Mr. Clark said, "Keely is being rewarded for who she is and what she does. She is engaging, energetic and innovative. It is always nice when the outside world gets to see and recognize the amazing things she brings to our school."
Congratulations! The WKBN segment will air in December.

We are thankful for each and every one of our Trojans. Happy Thanksgiving!

Rounding out our New Staff Feature is Mrs. Beals! Welcome to the Trojan Team!

B.L. Miller's Student Senate celebrated "World Kindness Day" last week with a series of activities that promote kindness. At lunch students were invited to fill out note cards to present to friends explaining why they are amazing. Student Senate members also posted messages of kindness throughout the school. Finally, a video explaining the connection between kindness and health was viewed by all classrooms at B.L. Let's keep the kindness going all year, Trojans!

Mark your calendars BL Parents! We will remind you of these air dates again in May.

We want to hear from you!

Mrs. Walsh and Mrs. Sisler’s kindergarten classes explored White House Fruit Farm last month. Students loved exploring the orchards, learning about how a farm works, sampling apples, and even had time to play on the playground. Take a look:

Mrs. Melinda Wilms is our new McKinley Intervention Specialist. Let's give her a warm Trojan welcome!

Reminder:

Attention Trojans:

Students in psychology class have been learning about brain biology. To help students better understand the parts of a neuron, and how neural messages are transmitted, they got to make neurons out of candy.

If you've been to football game this fall you may have noticed The Trojan Marching Band has grown to 44 members! To accommodate the growth, our band has new uniforms this year. This year’s band is the largest in recent years. Under the direction of YSU graduate Mr. Wyatt Engstrom, the band is thriving and sounding great!

A big "Sebring Shout-Out" to our Economy Club students who embarked on their annual "Trick or Treating for Turkeys" initiative this weekend. Students canvassed the village for their annual fundraiser which seeks to gather money for turkeys to be included in holiday food baskets. Trojans help each other and these students are leading the way!

We are resuming our "New Teacher Feature" this week with another Sebring graduate. Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Abigail Linerode home as a new Trojan staff member!

Monday was the "National Day of Writing" and Mrs. Mathias celebrated with her students by engaging in nature writing projects. Writing is a critical component of learning and students routinely exercise their writing skills in Mrs. Mathias' class. This week students are engaging in writing projects about nature in which they observe nature settings and write about it. Some seniors even braved the rain today! Take a look:
